Growing Beyond Congregation

Posted by T. Resnikoff // February 1st 2012 // Issues and Trends, Stories and Voices, young adults // no comments

This week a panel of  Unitarian Universalists representing congregations, non-congregationally affiliated UU’s, representatives of the Unitarian Universalist Association and UU’s across the country (participating through the Unitarians Universalists Exploring Congregations and Beyond Facebook group) will meet in consultation on the ideas advanced by the Congregations and Beyond initiative.

Many more people identify as UU than are members of congregation, the Congregations and Beyond approach asks how we can reach out to those folks.  This three day consultation is a great opportunity for discussion and exploration of new ideas for promoting the principles and values of Unitarian Universalism, growing our faith, discovery and renewal.

Carey McDonald, Director of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, will co-facilitate and report from the consultation on The Blue Boat of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

You are warmly encouraged to participate in the discussion by joining the Unitarians Universalists Exploring Congregations and Beyond Facebook group. We particularly welcome the voices of youth and young adults helping shape the future of Unitarian Universalism.

Look for Carey’s reports from the field on Thursday, February 2 and Friday, February 3!
