Determine the Future of YAs and Districts

Posted by Carey McDonald // May 4th 2012 // Events and Opportunities, young adults // 7 comments

A special guest will be joining the May Young Adult Leaders Roundtable discussion to ask how our districts can better serve young adults.

The 19 districts of the Unitarian Universalist Association are rethinking their role through a task-force of the District Presidents Association. Task force chair Kathy Burek will be on our call on May 17th to hear what YOU have to say as a young adult leader.

Plan on joining this is a great opportunity to shape the vision of our faith’s leadership, governing bodies and resources for years to come. We will also be hearing from a young adult group in Atlanta, GA who has had a lot of successes in recent years. This will be the start of a monthly “Meet a Young Adult Group” segment on the Roundtable discussion calls that will allow us all to learn more from the sages in our midst.

Call Details:

Thursday, May 17, 8 pm (Eastern)

Call in number: 712-432-3100, Passcode:  889323#

Agenda:

  • 8:00 – Welcome and introductions
  • 8:10 – Discussion on the role of districts with Kathy Burek, District Presidents’ Association

Will there be any discussion after this round table for thoese of us who can’t make this meeting? Due to finals on the 17th. I can’t make it but would like to know what was said and to have some input into the conversation. Thanks!

      Rachel

We’ll take notes as always, and I’ll ask Kathy to provide a way for other folks who weren’t able to make the call to provide some feedback. Thanks!

  2. Jayme Lynn says:

What time is the call? And what is the dial-in information?

    • Carey McDonald says:

      Jayme

We’ve updated the post with the time and call-in details. Let us know if you plan to join!

      • Jayme Lynn says:

I was hoping I would be able to, but my church Board of Trustees meeting is at the same time. Thank you, though. I hope the call is productive and inspiring!

  3. Shanna says:

My congregation started a YA group a few years ago but it has faltered due to lack of interest. I’m hoping to be able to sit in on this call and maybe get a few ideas about what we can do to improve in the future and maybe get the group going strong again. Looking forward to it!

  4. Jeremy Ritzmann says:

    I’ll be in attendance. 🙂
