Take Ten Minutes to Change the Future of Our Faith

Here’s the situation: My name is Annie and I work for the Unitarian Universalist Association.  I’m a young adult and one aspect of my ministry is supporting young adults across our faith.  So when a Unitarian Universalist is looking for a young adult voice or perspective, they often come to me and say “Hey Annie, do you know any young adults who would be good for *insert type of leadership here*?”

Well usually I do, because I happen to know a fair amount of UU young adults.  But there’s a problem here: being part of UU leadership should not depend on whether or not you know me.  It shouldn’t be based on whether you know folks who work for the UUA or whether you are a “well known” UU.  Our leadership should be based on things like: interests, experiences, and abilities.

What’s the solution?  The Young Adult Leaders List!

I’m signing up right now!

What is the Young Adult Leaders List?  Well it’s exactly what it sounds like.  It’s a way to keep track of young adults who are interested in Unitarian Universalist leadership so that folks can find leaders and leaders can find opportunities.

I signed up for YALL1

I’m so happy I signed up!

How does it work?  There’s a simple form young adults can fill out that should take about 10 minutes.  There are spaces for basics like name and contact info as well as UU experience, interests, and identities.  That information will help UUA staff when we’re looking for folks to give feedback on proposals, help lead workshops, write blog posts, serve on committees, and shape our faith in other important ways.

YALL-18-35

“Umm, I’m over 18, but are you under 35?”

How can I get involved?
If you are a young adult (age 18 – 35) then you can fill out the form, right here!
No matter what your age is, you can publicize this form widely so that lots of diverse young adults have access to it.
