It’s finally here! Illuminations, the new iPhone/iPad app for Unitarian Universalists, launched today on the Apple app store! An Android version is coming soon.

Click here to download the app to your device.

This nifty application has more than 350 Inspirational Words, a Chalice Lighter with several chalice options, and a 7 Principles Guide in English and Spanish, along with examples of the Principles in action.

HIGHLIGHTS

•  The Inspirational Words have a daily notification function.

•  In addition to our traditional cherished verbiage, the 7 Principles Guide includes user-friendly expressions (e.g. “Each person is important” for “The inherent worth and dignity of every person.”).

•  (Best of all) You can blow out the chalice. (No joke, we wouldn’t joke about anything this awesome.)

You can also “Like” the Illuminations app on Facebook: www.facebook.com/IlluminationsApp

This is only one piece of the larger UUA strategy to reach beyond the walls of our congregations and get Unitarian Universalism into the hands of those who can hear our message of love and affirmation.

Let us know what you think of the app, and look for more to come!

Any chance we’ll see this on Android or, better yet, a web-based version for any smartphone, tablet or PC?

As the post mentions, an Android app should be available in a week or so. The current Apple store app is also iPad compatible.
