Your Guide to 30 Days of Love

Posted by Kayla Parker // January 15th 2013 // Issues and Trends, On Campus, Stories and Voices, young adults // 4 comments

Standing on the Side of Love is an interfaith advocacy campaign that is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association. This year they are hosting their 2nd annual 30 Days of Love, “a period for intentional action, service, education, and reflection running from January 19 to February 17, 2013.”

How can you participate with your young adult or campus ministry group? I’m so glad you asked!

I’ve created a guide for young adult and campus ministry groups, with an action or small group ministry session for each of the 4 week themes of the 30 Days of Love. Here’s an outline:

Week One: Honor Legacy

Adaptations and recommendations for great small group ministry sessions that discuss our Unitarian Universalist History – and it’s dedication to justice work.

Week Two: Think Interfaith

Suggestions on ways to continue engagement in your community or on your campus.

Week Three: Move Beyond Borders

Small group ministry session created just for you, on how difficult conversations we have when crossing the borders can be transformative experiences.

Week Four: Share the Love

Suggestions for how to spread the love, and who to send it to.

I’d love for you to use the guide for young adult and campus ministry groups, and check out the actions on the 30 Days of Love site as well, to see if something there seems fitting for your group.

I’d love to hear if you partake in the 30 Days of Love. Send your stories to ya-cm @ uua.org, and if you want, they could even end up here!
