Alain de Botton discusses the idea of religiously enlightened atheism in this TED Talk, originally produced in July, 2011.–Ed.

Faith is the province of us all

Alain de Botton speaks about the value religious movements have for the committed atheist in their capacity to satisfy the human need for connection and community. He proposes a “new atheism” which allows for spiritual search, while proposing that atheists could benefit from the adoption some aspects of religious forms and traditions.
