Luminary Leaders Ask Peter & Jim Tough Questions

Posted by jennicadavishockett // January 29th 2015 // Featured Youth, Future of Faith, youth // one comment

On Saturday January 24th, Luminary Leaders from across the United States joined UUA President Rev. Peter Morales and UUA Moderator Jim Key for a webcast to ask them anything they wanted. Oh did they ask some tough questions! Find out what youth across the nation really want to know about how the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) works. Hear Jim’s answer to “Where do you draw the line between democracy/equity and inefficiency?” and Peter’s answer to “What do you think is most important to tell the world about Unitarian Universalism?” (Spoiler: Jim and Peter agree it’s not about doing things right, but about doing the right things.)

You’ll be surprised to find out neither Peter nor Jim had the specific ambition to get where they are today. Rather, by following the path they detail in the conversation, it seemed natural to answer the call when it came their way.

Special thanks to Caleb Leman, Luminary Leader from the MidAmerica region, for interviewing Peter & Jim.

(So Many Bills! In the video, Rev. Peter misspeaks when he says the first African American UUA President as Bill Schulz, but he knows it was Bill Sinkford. Bill Schulz is the head of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. -Ed.)
