A Bigger Picture for Campus Ministers
It’s not easy being a campus minister. This work of nurturing students spiritually and providing inclusive community on college campuses is crucial, and yet it is also taxing and can be isolating. That’s why it’s so important to find peer support! We Unitarian Universalists (UU) are a small movement and while we have roughly 60 campus ministries across the country, not all of them are currently active and many are led by rotating volunteers. To find wisdom, support, new ideas and a sense of connection, it’s wonderful to turn to our siblings in faith and get in touch with other religious professionals engaged in this work. One way to find such connection is through National Campus Ministry Association…
Spotlight: UUs of Wellesley College
Consistency is Key Rosemary Dodd is a student at Wellesley College and was very involved in youth leadership in her Unitarian Universalist(UU) community back home in California. She is part of the UU student group at Wellesley, supported by a UU chaplain, and she can see the difference it makes coming to a school with an active and supported UU group on campus. “I think it helps to keep me balanced and gives me an opportunity to stay connected to my spirituality, especially since being UU has been so key to my identity and focus before Wellesley; it creates some continuity, which so many of my other UU young adult friends have struggled to find.”…

So maybe you are sitting around thinking “Gosh I wish I had a copy of Becoming: A Spiritual Guide for Navigating Adulthood. I would be so happy if for a mere 99 cents * I could acquire an Amazon Kindle version with the click of a button!” Well you, my friend (and your friend’s friends, and their…
What’s the Deal with “becoming”?
Your “becoming” is coming “becoming: A Spiritual Guide for Navigating Adulthood” is hot off the press and boy is it ever HOT! When we started promoting this book last week we had no idea just how quickly it would become so popular. We knew this collection of reflection and essays spoke to young adults, but we didn’t expect so many young adults would be so eager to hear! We weren’t caught unware, but turns out we’ve been caught short… Now we are grappling with a very, very enviable problem. The first amazing part of our enviable problem is that generous donors, John F. and Susan B. Smith, funded this project – including printing…
